KCET: Richard Duardo – Owner & Master Printer, Modern Multiples
Watch the video here!
“Richard Duardo is a well-known artist in the Los Angeles community. Once referred to as the ‘Warhol of the West,’ he has established a name for himself by producing prints of pop-culture icons. After graduating from UCLA, Duardo dove into Highland Park’s art scene by working with Self-Help Graphics and co-founding his first studio, Centro de Arte Público. Today, he owns Modern Multiples, a printmaking studio featuring contemporary artists. Duardo recounts the creation and closing of the Centro de Arte Publico and how the growing Chicano movement paved the way for new political organizations. Richard is part of the always vocal and committed Duardo family.”

Gregory Siff: Print released for Solo Show “G” at La Founderie
Preview | Gregory Siff | ‘G’ Artshow | 2011 from Creative Cartel on Vimeo.
We just finished a print here for Gregory Siff that was released at his solo show “G” on 11-11-11 at La Founderie (1755 Glendale Blvd. LA, CA 90026). Be sure to check this show out, it’s going to be a cool one. Also check out his website here.
Gregory Siff is an American artist whose work blurs the boundries between Pop Art and Abstract-expressionism, with a little bit of street art thrown in for good measure. Originally from Brookyln, New York, Gregory has been bi-coastal for the past ten years, but officially made Los Angeles home in 2009 where he has since established himself as ‘one to watch’ in the Los Angeles art scene. He has garnered a strong following among the Hollywood comunity as well as holding his own in the street art scene, having recently completed a collaboration with artist RISK and others within one of LA’s most respected crews, The 7th Letter. Most recently, Siff, co-founded ‘The Creative Cartel’ with the artist Mar to promote their vision of what’s next and new in the art scene and beyond. In 2011, he was commissioned to paint some of LA’s most notorious walls, including The Standard Hotel in downtown LA and The De la Barracuda Wall, with his simplist, yet deeply emotional work. In addition to exhibiting in Los Angeles and New York – where his work was featured in The Deitch parades, Siff has shown his work in London, Dublin, Italy and Vancouver. Siff’s work has also appeared in Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine, Paper Mag, The LA Times, Complex and Glamour.
In addition to being an artist, Gregory is an actor and writer currently in pre-produciton on his first feature film (add space) painT, which explores the life of a modern day van Gogh set against the backdrop of the New York and L.A. art scene. He recently completed his first solo show at La Fonderie in Los Angeles to much acclaim and is set to continue to make his mark upon each coast throughout 2012.
