Modern Multiples
Modern Multiples is a fine art serigraph and digital printmaking studio that collaborates with a wide array of contemporary artists and designers to create unique and highly collectable works of art. Our master printers employ their highly skilled and technical knowledge towards educating and enabling artists to immerse themselves into the printmaking process. We offer artists an opportunity to work one-on-one with our master printers and digital experts to create unique, signed and numbered, archival, limited editions.
We are dedicated to the realization of the collective vision between the artist, publisher and printer. Each production/collaboration is unique in its progression through the different levels of involvement and participation of the artist and publisher. We accommodate all levels of desired involvement by the artists – from color separations, stencil-making and color mixing to actual production and curation.
The ultimate beauty of the printmaking tradition is shown in its democratic nature. A fine-art print has the ability to reach a greater population of appreciators that may not be able afford original works, such as paintings. By providing our service the art community, we continue the great tradition of making accessible works of art for the public.
Digital Services
Our Digital Facility offers our artists and clients design services and digital assistance in archival printing. Our large format Epson printer is equipped with UltraChrome ink delivering superb color on a variety of substrates. This process employs an increased density of pigment content for archival museum quality prints. We favor Somerset Enhanced Velvet or Moab 100% rag paper to ensure the longevity and uncompromising fidelity and quality of our fine art giclées.
Consistent with the concept of ‘multiple originals’, often our giclee services expand from straight reproduction to drawing, painting and collaging on the giclee base, resulting in a mixed-media print. Once the desired results are achieved, each print is embossed with the Modern Multiples chop in the lower left corner and provided with a certificate of authenticity signed by the master printer, artist and publisher.
Serigraph Services
The concept of fine art printing has been popular since the 18th century, enabling artists to share their work with a broader range of admirers at a more accessible price. Screenprinting, also known as silk screening or serigraph printing, is a medium that is increasingly valued for its versatility. It challenges the lithographic process in terms of the textural rendering of an image.
From simple one color monoprints to 125-color Yamagata prints, our expert staff work with the artist to
ensure a final product that will fulfill the artist’s vision. We employ stencil-making techniques, photo-
mechanical reproduction, 4-color process work and specialize in hand painted multiples, which incorporate fine airbrush techniques and painterly brush work, making each print an original. Most importantly, we nurture and shepherd artists under our care to produce the highest quality work they can dream possible.
